Community Guidelines

Betcha is a game you play with your friends. The best bets are the ones everyone laughs about at the reveal — including the person who lost. These guidelines explain how we apply Section 11 of our Terms of Use across everything in the app: bets, bet-thread messages, photos, group names, and display names. If anything here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms control.

One thing to know up front: private groups are not exempt. Every rule below applies inside your group of five friends exactly as it would anywhere else.

The spirit of the game

Roast your friends; don't wound them. A good Betcha bet is something the person it's about could see at the reveal and still want to play next week. If a bet only works because it would hurt someone, it doesn't belong here.

Never allowed

• Harassment and bullying. Threats, sustained unwanted contact, or content meant to degrade or intimidate — whether the target uses Betcha or not. Hate speech directed at anyone on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or serious medical condition.
• Sexual content of any kind. Betcha is not the place for it, period. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material: it results in an immediate permanent ban and a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and law enforcement. Sharing intimate images of anyone without their consent results in immediate removal and account action.
• Violence and graphic content. No violent threats, and no gory or graphic material — real, staged, or implied.
• Self-harm. Nothing that promotes, glorifies, or depicts self-harm, eating disorders, or suicide. If you or a friend is struggling, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the US) — it's free and available 24/7.
• Illegal activity. No content that promotes or facilitates breaking the law, and no bets that require anyone to break the law to win.
• Doxxing. Never expose another person's private information — address, phone number, financial details, or anything else — without their consent.
• Impersonation and scams. Don't pretend to be someone you're not, misrepresent who you're affiliated with, or use Betcha for phishing or scams. No bots or automated accounts.

Rules for bets specifically

• No bets about the health, weight, substance use, or personal finances of real people. These are off-limits even as a joke, even in a private group, even about someone who isn't in the group.
• No real-money side bets. Coins are the whole game. Wagering real money or anything of value on a Betcha bet — inside or outside the app — violates the Terms and may violate the law where you live.
• Photos need consent. Only submit evidence photos of people who would be okay appearing in them. Anyone depicted in a photo without their consent can demand its removal — email [email protected] and we'll act on it.
• Don't cheat the judge. Betcha's AI judges outcomes from real evidence. Submitting doctored, staged-as-real, or AI-generated images as evidence is cheating, and it's a violation of these guidelines — the bet gets voided and repeat offenders lose access.

Reporting, blocking, and what we do

• Flag it. Every bet has a Flag this bet action in its details — pick a category and tell us what's off. You can also email [email protected] about anything, including content you can't flag in-app.
• Block them. Block any group member from the group info screen. Blocking hides messages and reactions in both directions and is reversible from your profile.
• We review reports within 24 hours. We use a combination of AI moderation and human review. Reports are confidential — we don't reveal who reported.
• Report in good faith. Filing false reports to harass another player is itself a violation of these guidelines.
• Enforcement. Depending on severity, we may remove content, void bets, restrict features, or suspend or permanently ban accounts — and we cooperate with law enforcement where required. Group creators are expected to keep their groups within these rules.
